I’m Melissa, the Thrifty Tech Teacher.  I have often been told that I seem to have a knack for knowing bits of information in two major areas of interest to teachers.  The first is getting great deals on things teachers want and need.  The second is knowing about websites and other technologies to help support teachers and students in the classroom.  At the urging of several colleagues and friends, I decided to share my information with all of you through this blog.  I hope it will grow and grow and become a great place for teachers, and other interested people, to find information that will help you become “money wise and technology smart.”

I am a public school teacher in Utah.  I have taught third, fifth and first grades.  I feel so lucky to do something I love for a living.  I am also a mom to three amazing children and wife to a very supportive husband.
